World Cup 2026 (Q): Ghana confirms victory against Madagascar

Ghana is definitely on track in these qualifications for the 2026 World Cup. By winning 3-0 in Madagascar, the Black Stars extend their lead at the top of Group I with a five-point advantage.

It's an undeniable victory, achieved notably thanks to the experience and talent of Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey. The match turned early. In the 8th minute, from a precise free kick by Ayew, Partey rose above everyone to open the scoring. Despite showing defensive solidity throughout the qualifiers, Madagascar faltered under Ghanaian pressure. The second goal came after 40 minutes, from a corner once again orchestrated by Jordan Ayew.

Mohammed Kudus sealed the fate of the match late on, once again well-served by the highly inspired Ghanaian captain. Dominant and pragmatic, Ghana confirms its status and edges closer to the 2026 World Cup, after missing out on the 2025 AFCON.
