World Cup 2026 Qualifiers: Sudan Already Gearing Up in Saudi Arabia
Sudan is actively preparing for the 5th and 6th matchdays of the World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Senegal and South Sudan. The Crocodiles of the Nile are currently in a training camp in Saudi Arabia.
Sudan will face the Lions of Teranga and the Bright Stars on March 17 and 24 respectively in Libya. To maintain their top position in Group B (10 points), the Crocodiles of the Nile have started their preparations early. A few weeks ahead of these encounters, the Sudanese have chosen Saudi Arabia as their training base. This strategic decision aims to provide the players with quality facilities and an environment conducive to optimal preparation.
While awaiting the official list of the Crocodiles of the Nile for the matches against Senegal and South Sudan, coach James Kwesi Appiah has called up two significant reinforcements: Amer Abdullah, a winger from the Australian club Green Gully, and Jamal Ali, a midfielder from Hills United in Australia. Before concluding this training camp, a stopover in Muscat is planned for a friendly match between Sudan's provisional team and Oman Club on March 13, 2025.
