Xavi wants to coach a national team

Two years after leaving the FC Barcelona dugout, Xavi Hernández has yet to find a new managerial position. But the 2010 World Cup winner seems to have a clear vision for the next step in his career.

Speaking on RNE, the Spanish tactician confirmed his interest in taking charge of a national team—an option that would better match his personal and family expectations:

A national team would suit me. At a club, it's tough to spend so much time with your family, especially with young children. I’ll say it openly: this could be a good fit for me.

The former Barça star dreams of experiencing the biggest international competitions as a head coach: World Cup, Euros, Africa Cup of Nations, or even the Asian Cup. After stints in charge of Al-Sadd in Qatar and FC Barcelona, Xavi could be about to open a new chapter in his career with a national team in the coming months.
