Yankuba Minteh pushing to join Liverpool
The Yankuba Minteh saga could be set for another twist. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Gambian winger wants to leave Brighton to join Liverpool, who are preparing a fresh offer.
Two bids already rejected
Liverpool are looking to bolster their attack and have already made two attempts to sign Yankuba Minteh. According to reports, Brighton first turned down a £50 million bid, before rejecting a second offer believed to be worth £60 million.
Despite these rejections, Liverpool have not walked away from the deal. The club are now said to be preparing a third bid to try and convince Brighton to part ways with their 22-year-old talent.
Minteh signals his intent to leave
The major change in this transfer saga now lies in the player's own stance. Yankuba Minteh and his representatives have reportedly informed Brighton of their desire to join Liverpool. Having arrived at Brighton in 2024 from Newcastle United, the winger is still under contract until 2029.
Last season, he scored three goals and provided four assists in 34 Premier League appearances. However, his long-term deal gives Brighton a strong hand in negotiations, allowing the club to demand an offer that matches their valuation.
