Zimbabwe: The federation explains the case involving Tino Kadewere

In an official statement, the Zimbabwean federation addressed the case involving Tino Kadewere.

After playing almost the entire first match of this international break against Benin on Friday, Tino Kadewere was not included on the team sheet for the match against Rwanda this Tuesday. His absence was due to an incident involving the striker and a journalist who had reportedly been harsh in her criticism of him. After insulting her, the Aris Thessaloniki forward poked the journalist in the chest. The Zimbabwe national team reported the incident.

"The Zimbabwe Football Association expresses its deep regret regarding the incident that occurred at Orlando Stadium during the Warriors’ media open training session, involving national team player Tinotenda Kadewere and journalist Yvonne Mangunda. ZIFA strongly condemns any form of abuse towards the media. Journalists are an essential part of football, and we are committed to ensuring they can carry out their duties without fear or intimidation," the federation stated.
