Sierra Leone secured a victory over Ethiopia this Tuesday in the 8th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

On Tuesday afternoon, five matches were on the schedule as part of the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign in the African zone. In Group A, Sierra Leone triumphed over Ethiopia (2-0), closing the gap to just two points behind Burkina Faso. Burkina Faso, currently second, hosts Egypt tonight. The Burkinabe will also face the Leone Stars during the next international break.

In Group C, Rwanda made a decisive move in the race for a playoff spot with a win against Zimbabwe (0-1).
