Zitha Kwinika reveals Kaizer Chiefs 'different mission'

Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika has outlined the club's different mission in the current campaign ahead of their Betway Premiership clash against Richards Bay at Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday night (19h30).

The Glamour Boys are back in action after a 10-day hiatus, owing to their early exit in the MTN8, and will be looking to return to winning ways in the league after a one-all draw with Mamelodi Sundowns in their last outing.

Similarly to Chiefs, the Natal Rich Boys have enjoyed a 10-day break from competitive action, and will also be gunning for maximum points, having settled for a stalemate with Durban City in their last league match.

With the match on the horizon, Kwinika admits piping Richards Bay is not an easy feat to achieve, but says the Soweto giants have a clear mandate to use their favourites tag to good effect this season.

“Richards Bay is one of those difficult teams to play against, but yes, we give them the respect but we also have our plan, our objectives, so we know what to expect from them and we've prepared very well for them,” said the centre-half.

"I think this season we are in a different mission to say the games where we need to collect points are such games. I think that's important for us to stay on top and we must win these games, not mainly focus on the big games.

"But now the attitude has changed, this is a big game, I think it's more bigger than the one we played over the weekend because these are very important points for us.

"So, the attitude shifts and we grind even more, so we'll give them the respect they deserve but work as hard as we can.

Notably, both teams took maximum points off each other last season, with the KwaZulu-Natal outfit winning three of their last five league encounters against Chiefs, who won the other two matches.
