2026 Ballon d'Or: Fabian Ruiz sees himself as the clear favorite
Having already had an exceptional 2025-2026 season as a team, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz now dreams of the 2026 Ballon d'Or.
Speaking to the Téléfoot program this Sunday, the Spanish international Fabian Ruiz defended his candidacy. "It's a dream for any footballer to be recognized individually for all their work this season and in previous seasons. I've been fortunate enough to win many team titles, and a few individual ones, but why not dream this year of being as close as possible to lifting this trophy, which is something truly special. It would be an honor for me to be able to lift the Ballon d'Or," the Parisian declared.

“I don’t like being in the spotlight and the center of attention, but I think this year I can afford it with the season, the work I’ve put in, and the titles I’ve won,” added the 30-year-old, who was sidelined from January to April with a knee injury. “At the team level, I’ve won everything. Individually, on a global scale, the only title I’m missing is the Ballon d’Or, to be recognized by everyone,” he added.
It must be said that for this individual award, Fabian Ruiz is competing with players such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé, Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, and Lamine Yamal.
