2026 World Cup: Ayoub Bouaddi, the Moroccan revelation who dazzled against Brazil

Morocco held Brazil to a 1-1 draw in their opening match of the 2026 World Cup. While Ismaël Saibari found the net for the Atlas Lions, another name was on everyone's lips after the final whistle: Ayoub Bouaddi.

At just 18 years old, the midfielder delivered an outstanding performance against the five-time world champions. Facing seasoned opponents like Casemiro, Bruno Guimarães, and Lucas Paquetá, the young Moroccan never looked fazed. Quite the opposite, in fact. With remarkable composure, technical precision, and footballing intelligence, he bossed the midfield battle.

The numbers say it all: 91% passing accuracy, 100% completion in the final third, six recoveries, five interceptions, and nine duels won. It was a world-class display for a debut on football's grandest stage.

It may be just the first match of the tournament, but Bouaddi has already made a lasting impression. Regarded as one of the finest talents of his generation, the LOSC midfielder showcased his full potential for all the world to see.

Morocco may have found its new star. And the 2026 World Cup has already unveiled one of its breakthrough revelations.
