2026 World Cup: Donald Trump to present trophy to the winner

The White House has confirmed Donald Trump's attendance at the 2026 World Cup final, scheduled for Sunday, July 19. The President of the United States will be at the match and will personally present the trophy to the winner, bringing to a close a tournament co-hosted by the United States.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed the news during a press briefing.

"We are looking forward to attending the final on Sunday, and I know the president is excited to be there. It is a fitting conclusion to a tournament that showcased America's ability to welcome the world on the biggest stage."

This ceremonial moment will be the final highlight of a global competition jointly organized by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. According to several reports, the Spanish royal family is also expected to be in the stands for the final.

Argentinian President Javier Milei, however, will not be making the trip. Despite his closeness with Donald Trump, he has announced he will watch the match from the presidential residence in Argentina, citing superstition as the reason for his absence.
