2026 World Cup - Portugal: Roberto Martinez set to pack his bags

This 2026 World Cup will be Roberto Martinez's last with Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal.

No matter the outcome of this World Cup, Roberto Martinez will step down after this World Cup. At least, that's what the English press is reporting this Tuesday, before being confirmed by local media.

Appointed in January 2023, the former Belgium manager—who guided them to a third-place finish at the 2018 World Cup—has decided not to renew his contract. His current deal runs until July 31, 2026. He is open to the idea of taking charge of a club side again.
