Despite the criticism voiced ahead of this 2026 World Cup regarding ticket prices, the tournament is drawing crowds.

For now, it’s clear that the competition is enjoying genuine popular success. After just five days of action and sixteen matches played, FIFA is already reporting one million spectators in the stadiums.

"Wow, 1 million fans in the stadiums!" reacted FIFA president Gianni Infantino on Instagram. The FIFA chief thanked supporters for "filling" the venues in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
