2030 World Cup final: Morocco and Infantino leave Spanish government stunned

The controversy surrounding the 2030 World Cup final between Morocco and FIFA president Gianni Infantino has sparked a response from the Spanish government.

Already under fire for his plan to create a commercial company to sell shares of the World Cup, Gianni Infantino is reported to have offered Morocco the chance to host the 2030 World Cup final. In return, he allegedly sought their support in the upcoming FIFA presidential elections.

In recent hours, Spain's Minister of Sports has expressed significant displeasure over this potential blackmail.

"We were very surprised, and above all, FIFA has already denied the information. We are working with FIFA and our next meeting is scheduled for September. (...) We are continuing our efforts because we want—and it is imperative—that the World Cup final is held in Spain. (...) I am convinced the final will take place in Spain," the government official told Cadena SER.
