According to AS, Rodri turns his back on Barça and chooses Real Madrid
The future of Rodri (Rodrigo Hernández Cascante) is becoming clearer. According to the Spanish daily AS, the Manchester City midfielder has just one destination in mind if he leaves this summer: Real Madrid.
AS: Real Madrid, Rodri's sole priority
Under contract with Manchester City until June 2027, the Spanish international reportedly wants to join only the Madrid club if he leaves the Etihad Stadium. This is a firm stance, despite interest from FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich.
Still according to AS, Rodri's desire to return to La Liga, combined with his outstanding performances at the last World Cup, convinced Madrid's management to seriously consider signing him during this summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, FC Barcelona has only made contact with the player's entourage without opening official negotiations with Manchester City. The Catalan club now knows that the world champion's absolute priority is to wear the Real Madrid shirt.
Currently on holiday in Montenegro, Rodri is continuing his recovery after a minor back surgery. His future should become clearer in the coming weeks.
