The Saudi Federation has its sights set on Petkovic

On his official X account, the beIN SPORTS commentator revealed that the Saudi Federation is closely following the profile of the former Algeria coach.

"The Saudi Football Federation is showing interest in Vladimir Petkovic, former coach of the Algeria national team, to take the reins of the Green Falcons for the next chapter."

According to Hafid Derradji, this interest comes just after Petkovic and the Algerian Football Federation parted ways. In its search for an internationally experienced head coach, the Saudi Federation is currently reviewing several profiles, including that of the Swiss tactician. Discussions could begin in the coming days, but no official agreement has been reached yet.

On Monday, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) officially announced the amicable termination of Vladimir Petkovic's contract and that of his technical staff, thus bringing an end to nearly two years of collaboration.

At the helm of the Fennecs, the former Switzerland boss led 33 matches, boasting a record of 23 wins, 5 draws, and 5 defeats.
