Ajax: Abdellah Ouazane scores his first goal but left frustrated
This Sunday, Abdellah Ouazane experienced a special moment with Ajax. At just 17, the young Moroccan international netted his first top-flight goal during the 2-2 draw against Heerenveen.
Starting on the left wing, Ouazane made his mark by scoring Ajax’s second goal just over half an hour into the game. Holding off two defenders after a deft back-to-goal control, he found space 30 meters out and unleashed a stunning strike into the top corner.
This brilliant individual effort was nevertheless overshadowed by the match’s dramatic twist. Ajax had a 2-0 lead before being pegged back, conceding an equalizer in the 88th minute. After the match, the youngster didn’t hide his frustration.

“It was a beautiful goal, but I wasn’t at all satisfied with my own performance. I tried to celebrate happily after my goal, but I couldn’t really manage it,” he told ESPN Netherlands. Ouazane also admitted he’s currently playing out of position. “I have to play as a left winger for now—it’s not my best role. But I’ve learned anything can happen. I have to be ready.” he added.
