Trophée des Champions: Hakimi's bitter reaction after PSG's defeat

On Sunday night, Paris Saint-Germain suffered a defeat to Lens in the Trophée des Champions (1-0). Achraf Hakimi reacted immediately after the final whistle.

PSG saw their perfect start to the season come to an end at Bollaert. After the match, Achraf Hakimi expressed his disappointment with the conditions under which the final was played. The Moroccan full-back felt the Parisians did not play on a truly neutral ground.

"We did everything to win, we dominated the whole match, but there were situations we just couldn't control. Coming to play on a pitch like this, not neutral, without our supporters... We should play under the same conditions. Today, it felt more like a Ligue 1 match. These aren't excuses," he told Ligue 1+.

Achraf Hakimi also pointed out that PSG's schedule and preparation were far from ideal ahead of the clash. "We've played neutral finals before, but this time we were away. But we'll keep working for what's next. Some players missed training and joined the squad late, we played a match on Wednesday, so we needed to recover. We have to keep going for what's to come." he added.
