Al-Ahli announces the departure of Riyad Mahrez
The story between Riyad Mahrez and Al-Ahli Saudi FC has come to an end. The Saudi club has officially confirmed the departure of its Algerian winger after three seasons packed with numerous achievements.
Arriving in 2023, Mahrez leaves Al-Ahli with a record of 122 appearances, 37 goals, and 46 assists. The former Algeria captain also played a key role in securing two AFC Champions League titles, leaving a significant mark on the club.
At 35, the 2016 African Ballon d'Or winner is now said to be prioritizing a return to England to be closer to his family. While his next destination remains unknown, several English clubs are reportedly keeping a close eye on his situation.
