Al Ahly: El Badry responds to Ammouta’s appointment
Hossam El Badry, head coach of Al Ahly Tripoli, addressed several hot topics during his recent television appearance. The Egyptian tactician notably discussed rumors of a potential transfer involving Hussein El Shahat to the Libyan club, while also commenting on the likely arrival of Moroccan coach Houcine Ammouta on Al Ahly’s bench.
El Badry speaks about Ammouta and rumors surrounding El Shahat
Appearing on the channel (MBC Masr), El Badry denied any negotiations with Hussein El Shahat, assuring that the Al Ahly player is not a recruitment priority for his side.
"I have great respect for Hussein El Shahat’s abilities, but we already have several players who operate in his position. That’s why I’m surprised by reports of an agreement or advanced talks with him," he stated.
When questioned about reports linking Houcine Ammouta to the Al Ahly coaching job, El Badry did not hide his admiration for the Moroccan manager.
"I wish Al Ahly the best, a club that holds a special place in my heart. I also wish Houcine Ammouta much success. He’s an experienced coach, with a strong personality and a solid track record in Arab and African football," he affirmed.
The former Egypt national team coach concluded by highlighting the Moroccan’s professional and personal qualities: "I’ve had the opportunity to meet Ammouta several times, including in a final in 2017. He is a skilled coach, with a strong character and valuable experience. I wish him all the best in this new adventure with Al Ahly."
