Algeria: Riyad Mahrez officially leaves Al Ahli
Riyad Mahrez and Al Ahli Jeddah have mutually agreed to part ways, just two days after the winger announced his retirement from international football.
Although originally contracted until June 2027, Riyad Mahrez is now officially leaving Al Ahli Jeddah by mutual consent. The Saudi club confirmed the news this Saturday, extending heartfelt thanks to their former captain:
"What Riyad Mahrez has contributed while wearing the Al Ahli shirt will remain etched in the club's history. Al Ahli expresses its deepest gratitude and wishes him all the best for the next chapter of his career."
A strong record over three seasons
Arriving from Manchester City in the summer of 2023, the Algerian international leaves behind impressive numbers: 122 appearances, 37 goals, and 46 assists across all competitions. In terms of silverware, his stint was marked by two AFC Champions League titles and a Saudi Super Cup. This departure comes just two days after Mahrez’s international retirement, following Algeria's elimination in the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup.
