Algeria: Youcef Belaïli lashes out at Vladimir Petkovic

Youcef Belaïli found himself at the center of controversy after posting a fiery Instagram story targeting Vladimir Petkovic.

The former Algerian international, who had stints with Ajaccio and Brest and now plays for Espérance de Tunis, quickly deleted his message in which he took aim at the Fennecs' head coach. His comments, deemed excessive, sparked a torrent of reactions on social media. He had written: “The holidays, he’s happy. Inch’Allah he drowns.”

This outburst comes amid an already explosive atmosphere surrounding the Algerian national team, just days after the Fennecs were knocked out in the round of 32 of this World Cup against Switzerland (2-0).
