The evening was cut short for Real Madrid, knocked out of the Copa del Rey at the very first hurdle after a shock defeat to Albacete. For his debut on the Madrid bench, Álvaro Arbeloa endured a baptism of fire, ending with a setback loaded with symbolism.

In the post-match press conference, the coach made no excuses and fully owned his decisions.

"I put together a team capable of beating Albacete. I have no regrets and I would make exactly the same choices again," he stated,

standing firm despite the defeat.

Arbeloa also made a point of defending his squad:

"I have a fantastic team. It's a privilege for me to be their coach. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to take this group again."

A resolute statement in an already high-pressure situation.
