After missing out on the Spanish Super Cup just a few days ago, Real Madrid will not be lifting the Copa del Rey either. Los Blancos were knocked out yesterday. Dani Carvajal has made a promise.

Just three days after their defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final against FC Barcelona (2-3), Real Madrid were eliminated from the Copa del Rey by Albacete (2-3), a team playing in Spain’s second division. While new coach Alvaro Arbeloa took responsibility for the loss, the players themselves bear a significant part of the blame.

"We have to work hard, we still need to improve. We’re not at the required level and we promise to give everything." said Dani Carvajal. Real Madrid’s next match is against Levante next Saturday.
