Cristiano Ronaldo isn't done yet — far from it. The man has two big targets firmly in his sights.

Speaking ahead of Portugal's Nations League clash with Wales, the now 41-year-old forward opened up about what still drives him. Age and a trophy cabinet bursting with honours haven't dulled his hunger one bit. The Portuguese skipper made it plain: there's still work left unfinished. And he named two specific ambitions he's chasing.

Lisbon's Estádio José Alvalade will host the opening chapter of Portugal's 2026/27 Nations League story, with Wales the visitors on September 24. It also marks a fresh era on the touchline, as Jorge Jesus — a man who once coached Ronaldo at Al-Nassr — takes the reins of the national team.

Group A4 will pit the Portuguese against Norway and Denmark as well. For Ronaldo, the mission is twofold: helping his country hold onto the trophy, and edging ever closer to that fabled 1,000-goal landmark.

The missions now are two: winning the Nations League and reaching 1000 career goals.

Portugal, it should be remembered, arrive as the reigning kings of the Nations League. Back in June 2025, they traded blows with Spain in a 2-2 final before prevailing on penalties — a result that made them the first nation ever to lift the trophy twice. Ronaldo was on the scoresheet that night, netting his side's second goal.
