Argentina: Di Maria's message to Lionel Messi

Last night, Lionel Messi played his final match with Argentina against Benin in a friendly.

A longtime teammate of the FC Barcelona legend, Rosario winger Angel Di Maria (38) sent a heartfelt message to his compatriot.

"The day no one wanted to see arrive is officially here: it is Messi's farewell. But today, I saw the photos he posted and watched the videos circulating, and frankly, seeing him so happy, with the serenity of knowing that he gave everything, is what makes us all happy. So we hope he enjoys it to the fullest. It will undoubtedly be a very special day for everyone, so thank you to him forever," the former Paris Saint-Germain player told ESPN.
