Lionel Messi will wear a special shirt for his final match with La Albiceleste, featuring gold lettering, after playing in three World Cup finals and winning the 2022 edition against France on penalties. It is a story that particularly inspires Lamine Yamal, the current number 10 at FC Barcelona, who is often presented as one of the heirs to the Argentine genius.

During an interview with the Guardian, Lamine Yamal recounted a special moment shared with Messi and explained how he felt about him: “I went to see Leo Messi and told him: thank you. I thanked him a lot for everything he has done and because he is the best. I have always thought he was the best. I always try to distance myself a little from things that seem beautiful only for the spectacle. This moment came from the heart. I saw him there, so I went to thank him for everything he has done for football; it came spontaneously.”
