Arsenal has locked in their left-back for the coming years. After an impressive campaign in the Gunners’ colors, Piero Hincapié will remain in England on a permanent basis. The London side has chosen to trigger the buy option included in the loan deal with Bayer Leverkusen, investing €52 million to secure the services of the 24-year-old Ecuadorian defender.
Hincapié started 40 games this season, playing a pivotal role in Arsenal’s Premier League title run and their Champions League final appearance. His outstanding campaign left the club’s management with no hesitation in sealing the deal.
