AS Monaco: Filipe Luis' powerful words about Lamine Camara
As he takes his first steps on a European bench, Filipe Luis wasted no time in making his preferences clear. The new AS Monaco manager has been full of praise for one of his midfielders, Lamine Camara.
Following Monaco’s 3-2 friendly win at Liverpool, Filipe Luis was crystal clear about his desire to keep the Senegal international, Lamine Camara. "We’re probably talking about one of the best midfielders in the world. He’s got real quality on the ball, covers a huge amount of ground—he’s absolutely top class." he said.
The Brazilian coach went even further, already announcing a major role for the player who’s been named Africa’s best young player twice, in 2023 and 2024. "He’s going to have a key role in my system. I’m hopeful he’ll stay. I think he’s happy at Monaco." he added.
