Atlético Madrid: Barça holds firm on Julián Álvarez
FC Barcelona has not given up on signing Julián Álvarez. The Argentine striker is being targeted as the successor to Robert Lewandowski at the tip of the attack.
The Argentine player remains the top priority for the Catalan club, which had already made an offer estimated at €100 million at the end of May. FC Barcelona does not intend to get into a bidding war and is unwilling to exceed this offer, while the Colchoneros remain unyielding regarding the future of their striker.
Within the club, however, the situation is not causing any concern according to Mundo Deportivo. With the arrivals of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, Barça believes they already have a wealth of attacking options. Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo, and Raphinha are also capable of playing as the number 9.
Still, Hansi Flick remains a big admirer of Julián Álvarez’s profile. However, the Catalan management would rather wait for the situation to evolve than force a move seen as extremely complicated.
