Atlético Madrid: FC Barcelona loses all hope for Julian Alvarez

The Argentine international forward is set to return to Atletico Madrid training next week, on August 10. Julian Alvarez will inevitably have a conversation with Diego Simeone regarding his current state of mind. The player will also reveal whether he still wants to leave Los Colchoneros or not.

For days now, Barça has been trying to force Atlético Madrid's hand to sign the player. But even so, how can they gather the necessary funds when the Madrid management has repeatedly insisted they will not sell Alvarez to FC Barcelona?

So, this is a dream transfer, but an impossible one. At least, that's what Marca reported on Thursday. FC Barcelona will not be able to bring the World Cup runner-up into their squad. Monday's meeting between Deco and the player's representatives led nowhere. Barça must face the facts and has already started looking for other options.
