As a teammate of Lamine Yamal at FC Barcelona and of Harry Kane with the England national team, Anthony Gordon opted to play it safe and not commit himself too much. Asked about the 2026 Ballon d'Or, the England international sees the Spanish winger and the Bayern Munich striker as the two leading favourites.

"It's difficult, because it depends a little on what you prefer and what you like in a player. If you appreciate that ability to score goals, Harry Kane's season has been historic. So I understand why some people would vote for him. And then, on the other hand, there's Lamine, who for me is the best player in the world. I know they're all talking about it and debating among themselves, but the best man will win," the British forward told ITV Sport.
