Ballon d'Or 2026: Kylian Mbappé's campaign viewed unfavorably at Real Madrid

In recent days, Kylian Mbappé has been giving numerous interviews in France and abroad in pursuit of the 2026 Ballon d'Or. At Real Madrid, this approach is not winning people over.

Kylian Mbappé spoke to L’Equipe, AS, RFI, CNN and many others. This earned him some mockery on social media, where some users have been trolling him about it. Since then, Real Madrid have not publicly spoken out in support of their player.

According to some Spanish media outlets, the Merengue club is considering attending the gala. However, Los Blancos have so far remained rather reserved regarding the Ballon d'Or. Unlike Bayern Munich, Barça and PSG, which have publicly expressed their support for Harry Kane, Lamine Yamal, Ousmane Dembélé and Kvara, the Madrid club have remained silent. According to Sport, the club's management is highly skeptical about Kylian Mbappé's chances of winning the prize.

Within the Spanish club, there is frustration with Mbappé's attitude, particularly his campaign for the Ballon d'Or, which has been deemed ridiculous. In the club's offices, a Real Madrid member told Sport about him: “how he begs for votes for the Ballon d'Or.” Mbappé's behavior is causing concern among the club's senior figures, who also did not appreciate the controversy surrounding the T-shirt in support of Ceuta.
