Things just keep going wrong for Senegal international Bamba Dieng. The striker’s transfer window has been a wild ride full of twists and turns.

After his move to Turkey collapsed—Dieng backed out due to a late shift in negotiations—the Senegalese international also failed to sign with OGC Nice in Ligue 1. The Gym had even reignited interest in the former Lorient striker, which could have reunited him with his old coach, Olivier Pantaloni.

In recent hours, talk turned to a potential switch to Lazio in Rome for the Senegalese forward. Local media even reported the deal was done. Dieng successfully passed his medical. However, according to Sky Sport Italia, the deal broke down at the last minute.

"The striker arrived on the evening of Wednesday, August 19, but after the initial medical, the conditions were no longer met to continue the adventure with the player," the outlet wrote, describing the decision as "virtually final."
