According to Sky Germany and confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Colchoneros have reached a full agreement with both the player and the German club. The Spanish international is expected to make the move for a fee of €25 million.
However, Barça, his formative club, are left with some regrets. The Blaugrana were keen on bringing back their former player, but Atlético have ultimately beaten them to the punch. Grimaldo now faces a medical before signing a long-term contract with the Madrid club.
