Basel FC shows interest in Tawfik Bentayeb

FC Basel has submitted a €2.8 million offer to Union Touarga to sign Tawfik Bentayeb, according to Sky. The Swiss club has also reportedly offered the Moroccan striker a three-year contract.

But the deal looks set to be complicated. According to Fussballeuropa, Schalke 04 had already put forward a €5 million bid, which was rejected by the Moroccan club. FC St. Gallen, Toulouse, and Feyenoord are also tracking the player.

Loaned to Troyes last season, Bentayeb made his mark by finishing as Ligue 2's top scorer with 18 goals in 28 matches. These performances have made him one of the most sought-after strikers in this summer's transfer window.
