Bayern: when the Bavarians use Real Madrid to convince Michael Olise

Michael Olise has already made his return to Munich. And Bayern Munich is ready to move fast to lock him down.

This Friday, Michael Olise made his much-anticipated return to training with Bayern Munich. Just days ago, it seemed the French international might not be back with the Allianz Arena side after a stellar club season—22 goals and 31 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions.

Olise shone at the 2026 World Cup. The Frenchman finished as the tournament's top assist provider with six. He often carried Les Bleus alongside Kylian Mbappé, though he became more tightly marked and less effective in the latter stages, especially against La Roja. All of this caught the eye of Real Madrid.

However, the Frenchman won’t be moving this summer. Looking further ahead, the Bavarians are focusing on extending Michael Olise's contract, which runs until June 2029. This Friday, Bild reported that confidence has returned in Bavaria. The German outlet notes that the Rekordmeister holds a strong position in negotiations.

Munich are banking on Real Madrid’s stacked attacking line to persuade the Frenchman that staying in Bavaria—where a new contract awaits—is the smarter move for his career. Bayern want Olise to remain a cornerstone of the squad, not just another star among many. They’re also ready to increase his salary, which could reach €20 million per year.
