Bongani Ndulula officially announces his retirement from football after a unique career
After winning the treble with Orlando Pirates in 2011 and admirably representing African football, Bongani Ndulula has announced his complete retirement from the sport at the age of 36.
A journey that ended on the threshold of forty
Ndulula's journey took him away from the Buccaneers in 2013, and from there he turned out for AmaZulu, later spending time at both Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United.
Now, in an interview with KickOff, the former Pirates frontman has made it official: his days as a professional player are behind him.
"I am done with football. I am now focused on doing other things. I have been playing some social tournaments to keep myself busy. But now I no longer have the energy to continue playing football," Ndulula said.
Looking back, he has no regrets about the road he travelled.
"I enjoyed my time playing football. Besides playing for the two big clubs in South Africa, one of my greatest achievements was representing my country during the AFCON tournament."
