Brazilian winger Juan Bezerra pushes for Shabab Al Ahli move as clubs clash over valuation

Brazilian winger Juan Bezerra is pressing for a summer transfer to UAE outfit Shabab Al Ahli Dubai following a lucrative contract offer, though Zamalek are holding out for a significantly higher transfer fee according to Egyptian reports.

Valuation gap between the clubs

Shabab Al Ahli have submitted a formal bid of $3 million to acquire the Brazilian attacker. However, Zamalek management has rejected the initial proposal valuing the player at a minimum of $6 million based on his technical quality and market standing.

While the Cairo club is open to selling to generate much needed financial resources, the board insists that any deal must meet their valuation. Zamalek executives have maintained that they will not succumb to pressure from the player's camp, though Beserra's agent remains in active discussions with the board to bridge the $3 million difference between the two parties.

Significant salary upgrade for Bezerra

The primary motivation behind Bezerra's push for the transfer is a substantial financial package offered by the Emirati club.

Shabab Al Ahli have presented the winger with a multi year contract worth a total of $5 million. Bezerra currently earns approximately $800,000 annually at Zamalek making the proposed move to the UAE a dramatic increase over his current salary in Egypt.

Analytical view: Zamalek’s negotiation dilemma

Zamalek face a delicate balancing act during this negotiation. While selling Bezerra would provide vital liquidity to reinforce other areas of the squad accepting a $3 million offer would mean letting key talent leave below their internal valuation.

Conversely, retaining a player who has been offered a life changing wage increase carries the risk of keeping an unsettled squad member. By standing firm on their $6 million valuation, Zamalek's hierarchy is testing Shabab Al Ahli's financial commitment to completing the transfer.
