Bursaspor: Kelechi Iheanacho scores twice

Bursaspor secured an important victory on matchday eight of the 1. Lig. Initially beaten by Batman Petrolspor’s opening goal, the visitors completely turned the game around after the break.

Batman Petrolspor took the lead first, forcing Bursaspor to chase the game. However, the Green and Whites went into the dressing room determined to get back into the match. The response came in the second half. Kelechi Iheanacho first brought Bursaspor level before striking again to put his team ahead.

The Nigerian striker thus scored both of his team’s goals and turned a seemingly certain defeat into a 2-1 victory. Bursaspor then managed to hold on to their lead until the final whistle and returned from the away trip with all three points.

Iheanacho: “It was a very difficult match”

After the match, Kelechi Iheanacho stressed how difficult the comeback had been and the importance of making Bursaspor’s supporters happy.

It was a very good victory. It was a very difficult, highly contested match, but we managed to win.

With his brace, Iheanacho was therefore the main architect of the turnaround, allowing Bursaspor to turn a deficit into a 2-1 victory.
