The first leg of the second qualifying round of the CAF Champions League between 15 de Agosto and Simba SC will be played without spectators on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam. Supporters of the Tanzanian club will therefore be unable to attend the match, despite it being scheduled in their own city.

The match between the Equatorial Guinean club and Simba SC will be played under unusual circumstances. Designated as the home team, 15 de Agosto chose to host its opponent at Uhuru Stadium in Tanzania. The encounter will be played behind closed doors, depriving both teams of support from the stands.

Simba SC supporters denied access to the stadium

This decision particularly affects Simba SC supporters. Accustomed to following their team in Dar es Salaam, they will have to watch the match from a distance this time. Discussions held to allow spectators into the stadium did not succeed, according to reports from several Tanzanian media outlets.

Simba SC communications officer Ahmed Ally confirmed the arrangements for this first leg. The decision to play behind closed doors was reportedly proposed by representatives of 15 de Agosto during the preparatory discussions.

A two-legged tie in Dar es Salaam

Both legs of this tie are scheduled to be played at Uhuru Stadium. After Wednesday, October 21's first leg, the teams are due to meet again on October 25 for the second leg, with Simba SC as the home team.

The stakes are high for both teams, who are aiming to qualify for the next round of the CAF Champions League. For Simba SC, the absence of spectators in the first leg adds another unusual element to a tie being played at their usual home ground.
