CAF Champions League: TP Mazembe accused of witchcraft
Saturday’s clash between TP Mazembe and Club Africain took an unexpected turn during the first leg of the second qualifying round of the African Champions League.
While Lubumbashi’s Ravens were held to a 1-1 draw by Club Africain this Saturday, October 17, in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the CAF Champions League, an incident occurred on the sidelines of the match. According to information reported by journalist Micky Jnr on X, objects allegedly linked to occult practices were reportedly found in the tunnel leading to the pitch.
TP Mazembe will have to explain itself
Images of these objects, found by the Tunisian club’s staff, have circulated widely on social media in recent hours. The images quickly sparked suspicions directed at the Congolese club. The match commissioner was also reportedly informed of the incident.

For now, there is nothing to confirm that these objects were actually intended for a witchcraft ritual, let alone that they belonged to representatives of the Congolese club. While awaiting possible explanations from the clubs or CAF, it would be premature to draw any conclusions about the Congolese club’s involvement.
