As part of the second qualifying round of the 2026-2027 CAF Champions League, Mamelodi Sundowns begin the defence of their title. They travel to Angola this Sunday to face Wiliete in Lubango.

For this match, Cardoso has a strong squad at his disposal. He will have to balance injury concerns with the demands of a trip that could prove a potential stumbling block on a rest day. Having been exempted from the first round of the CAF Champions League, the South Africans face a perilous away game as they look to preserve their unbeaten record.

Wiliete in fine form

Wiliete finished second in the Angolan championship (Girabola) last season, behind Petro de Luanda. In the first qualifying round, the Angolan side eliminated Seychelles club Foresters Mont Fleuri by an aggregate score of 5-0.
