In the second qualifying round of the 2026-2027 CAF Champions League, Mamelodi Sundowns begin their title defence. They will travel to Angola this Sunday to face Wiliete in Lubango.

For this clash, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Cardoso has a strong squad at his disposal. He will have to balance injury problems with the demands of a trip that could prove a potential stumbling block on a rest day.

A risky trip

After receiving a bye in the first round of the CAF Champions League, the South Africans face a perilous trip as they seek to preserve their unbeaten record. Wiliete finished second in the Angolan championship (Girabola) last season, behind Petro de Luanda. In the first qualifying round, the Angolan side eliminated Seychelles club Foresters Mont Fleuri by an aggregate score of 5-0.

The probable line-ups for the clash:

Wiliete: Nayan; Giovani Chipolopolo, Mindinho, Júnior Goiano, Wiwí; Boucar Sidibé, Mule; Bito; Cairo; Gilberto; Karanga

Mamelodi Sundowns: Ronwen Williams; Fawaaz Basadien; Mothobi Mvala, Grant Kekana, Thabang Matuludi; Marcelo Allende, Thabo Cele, Nuno Santos; Antonio van Wyk, Brayan León, Cassius Mailula
