Also known as the "Air Defense Stadium," June 30 Stadium was inaugurated in 2009 and is owned by the Egyptian Air Defense Forces.
With a capacity of 30,000 fans, it is Cairo’s second-largest stadium after Cairo International Stadium. Since the unrest that rocked the country in 2011, this ground has become a safe haven for several Egyptian clubs.
Even giants Al Ahly and Zamalek used this stadium for their matches when Egyptian clubs were banned from playing at the Cairo International Stadium.
For years now, Pyramids FC has called this stadium home, whether in the Egyptian Premier League or continental club competitions. It was also one of the venues for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, hosting 10 matches, including Algeria’s 3-0 Round of 16 win over Guinea, Senegal’s 1-0 quarter-final victory against Benin, and the dramatic semi-final where Senegal edged Tunisia 1-0 after extra time.
