On Saturday night, Algeria was knocked out in the quarter-finals of CAN 2025. Riyad Mahrez spoke out this Sunday. The former Manchester City star delivered a powerful message to the Algerian people.

The day after Algeria’s elimination by Nigeria (0-2) in the quarter-finals of CAN 2025, Riyad Mahrez broke his silence to send a powerful message. Although the Fennecs were outplayed from start to finish, it was the Algerian captain who breathed fresh hope into the squad with his statement.

On Instagram, Mahrez was candid but truly unifying. "Disappointed by the elimination, but proud of this team and this group, in triumph as well as in tough times. Thank you to our supporters and to all Algerian people for your support throughout the tournament. We’ll come back stronger, as always," Mahrez promised.
