Morocco: CAN 2025 sets an impressive attendance record

As the quarter-finals of CAN 2025 wrapped up this Saturday night, a record was broken.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Morocco, is already making history even before the grand finale. Following the quarter-finals, the tournament has reached an unprecedented milestone with a combined total of 1,116,959 spectators across the nine host stadiums, according to 360 Sport. This tally has never been achieved in the 35 previous editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.

This figure confirms the exceptional popular enthusiasm surrounding this Moroccan tournament, which is expected to shatter even more records with the upcoming semi-finals, third-place play-off, and final. Over 40,000 fans attended Egypt vs. South Africa in Agadir, more than 41,000 watched Senegal vs. DR Congo in Tangier, while Marrakech and Casablanca also rocked during their highly anticipated clashes.
