George Ilenikhena continues to deliver strong performances in Saudi Arabia. The Nigerian striker scored in Al-Ittihad's victory over Al-Diriyah (2-0) on Friday, October 23. With this latest goal, the young centre-forward has taken his tally to nine goals and three assists in all competitions this season.

Al-Ittihad were able to rely on the efficiency of their attacking player to secure the three points. Starting against Al-Diriyah in the Saudi Pro League, Ilenikhena opened the scoring in the 30th minute. Gijs Nadoum then scored the second goal from the penalty spot to secure the Saudi club's victory.

George Ilenikhena continues to make decisive contributions

The former AS Monaco striker is going through a particularly productive spell. In his last five matches in which he made a decisive contribution, the Nigerian scored five goals and provided three assists, for a total of eight attacking contributions.

His statistics illustrate this efficiency. In the league, Ilenikhena now has eight goals and three assists in twelve appearances, amounting to eleven goal contributions. He is therefore Al-Ittihad's top scorer and their most decisive player in the Saudi Pro League this season.

In all competitions, his tally stands at nine goals and three assists in fourteen matches. At just 20 years old, the young centre-forward is confirming his finishing ability and his capacity to influence his team's results.

His presence in the opposition box and his eye for goal make him an important attacking asset for Al-Ittihad. His consistency will be particularly important in the coming matchdays as the club continues to pursue its league objectives.

The Super Eagles in his sights

Ilenikhena's performances are also drawing attention to his international future. The Nigerian striker was called up to the Super Eagles in September 2026 for the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

In a national team featuring established forwards such as Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, the young player still has to earn his place. His club performances nevertheless give him arguments with which to convince head coach Éric Chelle.

Georges Ilenikhena continues to progress and accumulate attacking statistics. If he maintains this pace, he could quickly become an even more important player for Al-Ittihad and strengthen his position in the Nigerian attacking pecking order.
