The Ivorian striker Oumar Diakité is continuing his strong start to the season. After scoring a hat-trick in the league against Grazer AK last weekend, the Ivorian international did it again this Thursday, October 22, 2026, scoring Sturm Graz’s only goal against Olympique de Marseille on matchday three of the Europa League.

After his league hat-trick, Oumar Diakité makes headlines again against OM

The former MimoSifcom academy player made his mark as early as the 13th minute. Well served by Luca Weinhandl, Oumar Diakité beat Marseille goalkeeper Jeffrey De Lange to put the Austrian side ahead.

This latest goal confirms the Ivorian striker’s excellent momentum, as he has been particularly inspired in front of goal since the start of the season. With this goal, he opened his Europa League account and took his total to seven goals in seven matches in all competitions.

Trailing on the scoreboard, Les Phocéens launched wave after wave of attacks in the hope of drawing level with their opponents. Despite their efforts, however, the Marseille players were unable to find the back of the net.

At the end of the match, Sturm Graz claimed victory and moved to four points, provisionally occupying 13th place in the standings. Olympique de Marseille, meanwhile, still seeking its first win in this Europa League phase, sits in 34th place.

With this latest performance, Oumar Diakité has confirmed his attacking efficiency and established himself as one of Sturm Graz’s key players at the start of the season.
