Relebohile Mofokeng continues to shine in UEFA
Relebohile Mofokeng bagged an assist as Union Saint-Gilloise thrashed Israeli side Hapoel Beer Sheva 4-0 in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
USG broke the deadlock through Raul Florucz on the stroke of half time, before Mofokeng set-up Guilherme Smith, who doubled the lead in the 61st minute.
Dylan Aquino made it 3-0 in the 77th minute, while Smith completed his brace nine minutes from time to put the game to bed.
The Belgian club is in sixth place with seven points accumulated from three League Phase outings, trailing table-toppers Benfica with two points.
Notably, the top eight teams earn automatic qualification to the round of 16, while teams from position nine to position 24 will battle for a spot via playoffs.
Mofokeng, meanwhile, has taken his tally to three assists and four goals in 13 appearances across all competitions since joining the club in July.
He has established himself as a fan favourite in Brussels, having earned the trust of his manager David Hubert for a regular place in the starting XI.
Up next for USG is a league clash against bottom-placed Cercle Brugge on Sunday, where Mofokeng will reunite with compatriot Luke Le Roux.
