On Thursday night, Algeria experienced a flawless evening against Somalia. After securing qualification for the 2026 World Cup, Algerian fans sent a clear message to Riyad Mahrez and his teammates.

Thanks to their impressive 3-0 victory over Somalia on Thursday night, Algeria officially secured their spot in the 2026 World Cup. Beyond the result, it was the electric atmosphere in the stands at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium that truly stood out. As the players celebrated their qualification on the pitch, sharing the moment with their fans, the Algerian crowd broke into a now-viral chant: “Chaab yourid la Coupe d’Afrique”, which means “The people want the Africa Cup.”

A clear message aimed at Riyad Mahrez and his teammates: the Algerian people are now dreaming of a continental triumph this winter on Moroccan soil. It also serves as a major warning to African giants Morocco, Senegal, Nigeria, and Ivory Coast, just two months ahead of the continental tournament.
